About

The Colorado Trail Explorer (COTREX) is powered by the Colorado Trail System (CTS) mapping project.

Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) is leading the CTS effort which aims to map every trail in the state as part of its mission to provide enjoyable and sustainable outdoor recreational opportunities that educate and inspire current and future generations to serve as active stewards of Colorado’s natural resources.

Both the CTS data and COTREX online apps represent the first iteration CPW is sharing publicly. It is envisioned that CPW will continue to incrementally improve on these 1.0 versions as resources permit.
