Interlaken Hike

Saturday, June 24: 8:30 AM - 1:00 PM

AHRA Volunteer Naturalist Bob Hickey will lead a hike to the Interlaken Historical Site on the South Shore of the lower Twin Lakes. The hike follows the bluff along the lake, and the trail rolls through forested terrain with beautiful views of the lake and Mt. Elbert and Mt. Massive. Bob Hickey will discuss the unique Glaciology of the area. The hike will stop at Interlaken, a late 19th century resort that hosted many dignitaries at colorful galas. The hike will return on the trail. Call AHRA at 719-539-7289 for more information and to register.

​Hikers will travel independently to the trailhead and park their vehicles.  Hikers should wear and bring sunblock, good hiking boots, bring plenty of water, snacks and a sack lunch.  And  be prepared for the weather, including possible rain showers.
