Cheyenne Mountain- Bike Your Park Day

Saturday, September 30: 9:00 AM - 2:00 PM

This is going to be huuuuge.

Cheyenne Mountain State Park is organizing a bike expo with guided rides and workshops for a national event celebrating bicycling in parks and public lands.

If you’ve ever wanted to explore Cheyenne Mountain State Park on two wheels, now’s your chance. Cheyenne Mountain State Park (CMSP) is partnering with several Springs area bicycle partners and invites the public to join us Bike Your Park Day for information, clinics, presentations, and rides on September 30, 2017. This is a national event that encourages people to explore nearby parks and public lands by bicycle on the same day.

CMSP will be hosting an expo-style bike event from 9:00am to 2:00 pm on Saturday, September 30th, 2017, to celebrate Bike Your Park Day and National Public Lands Day. Throughout the day, there will be various opportunities for riders to enjoy the bicycling community to include guided rides, workshops, skill clinics, and more. A full itinerary will be available on the CMSP’s Facebook page. Various clubs, bike shops, professional riders, and others will be available throughout the day to answer your questions, introduce you to the latest bicycle trends, and help you have a fun day. There will be opportunities for all ages, skill levels, and capabilities. This will be the Colorado Springs area bicycling event of the year, so don’t miss it! The event is free to attend with a valid state parks pass ($7/day or $70 annual per vehicle).

Last year, over 11,000 people in all 50 states and 10 countries participated in the inaugural Bike Your Park Day. Adventure Cycling Association, a nonprofit bicycling organization, coordinates the event nationally, and expects a bigger turnout this year. Bike Your Park Day also coincides with National Public Lands Day, and participants are encouraged to take part in service projects.

If you’re interested in planning your own ride, we suggest you register for free at BikeYourParkDay.org - as everyone who registers before September 18th will be entered to win an Advocate Cycles Seldom Seen bicycle and an Amtrak trip for two, with bikes, to Glacier National Park. Cheyenne Mountain State Park encourages clubs and groups planning a ride to also contact Cheyenne Mountain State park to let us know, so we can anticipate the amount of users on the trails.
