Hike to Browns Creek Falls

Saturday, October 07: 8:30 AM - 2:00 PM

From the parking area, the trail heads west up a glacial end moraine into the mountains following the Little Brown’s Creek drainage. The steepest slopes are encountered here along the drainage. The trail climbs for about 1.5 miles where we cross Little Brown’s Creek (easy crossing) and soon enter a valley (the Brown’s Creek valley). We continue west up the valley through beautiful forest and meadows with great views up Brown’s Creek Drainage, highlighting Jones Peak to our southwest and Mt. White to our north. We re-enter the forest and near the falls we have the two bridged crossings of Brown’s Creek. The falls are a short distance above the second crossing on a short side trail to the south. Call AHRA at 719-539-7289 by noon on Friday Oct 13 to register.
