Highline Lake is open to fishing by boat! Currently, ONLY the West ramp is open for launching at Highline. Required ANS inspections are available from 8 am to 4 pm daily. Save time and stop at the Visitor Center on the East side of Highline Lake BEFORE going to the West ramp; ANS inspectors may be available at the Visitor Center. A boat must be inspected OR a receipt and seal must be dropped into the box provided BEFORE being launched!!
Both Mack Mesa and Highline Lakes are open for shore fishing, also! Both lakes have been stocked with over 6,000 11" - 12" trout in the past two weeks! That's a LOT of hungry trout! The place to fish at Mack Mesa is from the pier, according to some fishermen.
Fishing licenses, nightcrawlers and power bait are all available at the Visitor Center, open 8 am to 4 pm every day. 2016 fishing licenses don't expire until March 31, 2017. 2016 licenses for 1, 2 or 3 days are also available. 2017 fishing licenses are available March 15, but are not valid until April 1, 2017.
You must have a valid ID and social security number with you to purchase a license. If you have a blue license from a previous year, the process of purchasing a current license will be much easier!
If you would like a photo of you and your "Big Fish" posted on our Big Fish Board, stop by the Visitor Center. We will take your photo and post it! Or, email your photo and fish information to email@example.com. Then, stop by the Visitor Center to find your photo, and check out what others have caught!
