Recent reports are that crappie, catfish and 12"-13" trout are biting, especially from a boat in the middle of Highline Lake!
A boat must be inspected OR a receipt and seal must be dropped into the box provided BEFORE being launched!!
Both Mack Mesa and Highline Lakes are open for shore fishing, also! Both lakes have been stocked with over 6,000 11" - 12" trout in March and April! That's a LOT of hungry trout! The place to fish at Mack Mesa is from the pier, according to some fishermen.
Fishing licenses, nightcrawlers and power bait are all available at the Visitor Center, open 8 am to 4 pm every day. 2017 fishing licenses are now available.
You must have a valid ID and social security number with you to purchase a license. If you have a blue license from a previous year, the process of purchasing a current license will be much easier!
If you would like a photo of you and your "Big Fish" posted on our Big Fish Board, stop by the Visitor Center. We will take your photo and post it! Or, email your photo and fish information to firstname.lastname@example.org. Then, stop by the Visitor Center to find your photo, and check out what others have caught!
