Hunting is prohibited between Memorial Day and Labor day.
Mueller State Park offers 800 acres of hunting area within its western portion, part of which is adjacent to Dome Rock State Wildlife Area. Opportunities for hunting include Mule Deer, Elk, Black Bear, Mountain Lion, Turkey and small game.
Both the park and Dome Rock are within Game Management Unit (GMU) 581. The park's hunting area is accessible by foot only and it is approximately a 1 1/2 mile hike from the designated trailheads to the hunting boundary. The hunting area can be accessed from Rock Pond Trail #5, Lost Pond Trail # 11 and/or Black Bear Trail #13 only. Access to hunting boundary is not permitted on any other trails.
Hunting weapons must be unloaded from the trailhead until the hunting boundary is reached. The boundary is clearly marked along those designated trails. Once the hunting boundary is reached, hunters may load their weapons and may stray from the trail to hunt.
It is the hunter's responsibility to know where the boundaries are and be familiar with all Colorado Parks and Wildlife Hunting and Wildlife regulations.
