The Reservoir is CLOSED to Boating. All trailered vessels must go through an Aquatic Nuisance Species (ANS) inspection prior to launching. Boating will open Saturday March 17th, 2018 from the Elks ramp only.
The Elks Boat Ramp is CLOSED and the South Ramp is CLOSED please go to the visitor center or call 970-522-3657 for boat inspections. Boat Inspections are required prior to launch. Not all hazards are marked on the lake. The reservoir is closed to boating November 1st until ice off in the Spring.
Before launching you must obtain a seal from a certified ANS boat inspector and go through the proper Pre-Inspection procedure. Remember to always clean, drain, and dry your vessel to help prevent the spread of ANS.
Boaters are reminded that boat inspections for aquatic nuisance species are mandatory at most waters in the state, including state parks and state wildlife areas. Hand-launched, non-motorized, boats such as canoes or kayaks are allowed on the water and are not subject to inspection.
