Colorado was first recognized as a state Aug. 1, 1876. Celebrate Colorado's birthday in nature with free entrance to Colorado's state parks on Monday, August 1. Park entrance fees are waived, but activities like fishing and camping will still require a valid license and permit.

​​2016 Military PassMilitary and Veterans Free August Pass

​Active duty and veterans are admitted free to Colorado state parks for the month of August! The military member or veteran ​must s​how proof of military service (photo ID, DD-214, VA medical card) an​d obtain the free pass from any Colorado state park o​r CPW office​​. Military member or veteran must be in the vehicle using the pass. All other park fees (camping, etc) are still charged.​​​​
