DREAM STREAM: (EXCELLENT) Look for excellent fishing for weeks to come. Anglers should prepare for hatches of midges, blue-winged olives, and Tricos. Look for lake-run fish to begin entering the system any time now. Flows have dropped to their normal historic levels for the autumn season. Effective patterns this week include #18 egg patterns, red midge larva, #10 Pine Squirrel Leech, #18 Mercury Flashback Pheasant Tails, #18 Buckskins, and Top Secret Midges. Anglers can expect to see reliable hatches of midges, blue-winged olives, and Tricos. The slower pools, back channels, and tailouts are providing some good surface activity. Flies of choice are: #22 Mathew's Sparkle Dun, #24 Stalcup's CDC Biot Trico (for spinners and sunken spinners), and #24 Parachute Adams. Generally effective patterns include: # 20-22 Manhattan Midge, #10 Pine Squirrel Leech, #14-16 olive or orange UV Scud, #14 San Juan Worm, #18-22 Mercury Flashback Pheasant Tail, #18-20 Buckskin, #20-22 Jujubaetis, #20-22 Mercury Blood Midge, #20-22 Foam Wing Chocolate Emerger, and #24 Stalcup's CDC Biot Trico Comparadun.
