You Can Help Shape the Sylvan Lake State Park Management Plan

Sylvan Lake State Park Management PlanBeginning June 7 through July 6, 2017, Colorado Parks and Wildlife wants your input.

The planning process will consider whether infrastructure changes or new recreational facilities are needed to preserve high quality visitor experiences while conserving the park’s natural setting and wildlife habitat.

CPW held an Open House June 21 in Eagle. Opportunities were given to sharerecreation interests and preferences for specific areas within the Park.

Sylvan means a peaceful, wooded place and that's what visitors will find at this beautiful park surrounded by the White River National Forest. Stunning mountain scenery, abundant recreation, wildlife to watch and top-notch fishing and hiking provide year-round diversion.

Anglers can try for rainbow, cutthroat, brook and brown trout in the lake and creeks. Hikers will find more than seven miles of state park trails and easy access to the national forest. Picnickers can stake their claim to a spot along the shoreline.  Canoeists, kayakers, paddle and electric motor boaters enjoy the 42 acre lake. Overnight visitors can choose to camp, stay in a cabin or lounge in a yurt

.

The park is open all year and winter offers snowshoeing, cross country skiing, ice fishing, sledding, access to snowmobile trails and the chance to stay snug in a warm cabin.

Make the Visitor Center your first stop to explore the displays and for information on the park and surrounding area.
