2018 OTC with Caps List​

Over-The-Counter (OTC) Licenses with Caps (bear, elk)

NEW - Licenses with Caps are now available for purchase online, by phone at 1-800-244-5613 or at CPW locations and license agents.​​​​​​​​​​​

What are licenses "with caps"?

Licenses "with caps" are a preset number of licenses available on a first-come, first-served basis for both resident and nonresident hunters.

2018 Leftover List​

Leftover Big Game, OTC Fall Turkey & Reissued Licenses

NEW - Leftover licenses are now available for purchase online, by phone at 1-800-244-5613 or at CPW locations and license agents.​​​​​​​​​​​

Eligible returned licenses will be reissued through the leftover license process.

IMPORTANT: For August 7 Leftover Day, please check with your local CPW office​​​ as to their process and hours.

​The Reissue Process

  1. ​The reissue of big game limited licenses will begin on August 14, 2018.

  2. All returned licenses that take 4 or less Preference Points in the current years draw will be available for purchase the week after processing is complete.

  3. Hunt codes will randomly be placed on the current leftover and leftover OTC with cap lists Tuesday through Friday from 9 AM to 4 PM MDT.​​ ​​

​Apply for a Private Land Big Game Hunt in NW CO 

​Elk and mule deer hunt opportunities are available on 2 ranches in Rio Blanco County. See if you qualify and fill out the Collins Mountain Ranch or Miller Creek Ranch ​applications. Both are due at the office by 5pm, Oct 1. ​

Habitat Stamp

Habitat stamp Anyone aged 18 through 64 must buy a habitat stamp in order to buy or apply for a hunting or fishing license. Read more.

Flu​ores​cent Pink Approved!

In the spring of 2016, Colorado legislature passed Senate Bill 16-068 concerning wearing fluorescent pink garments to hunt big game. This change went into effect August 10, 2016.
