​High Plains Snow Goose​ Festival​​

Thursday through Sunday, February 8 - 11​, 2018, Lamar

​Join us for the 16th Annual High Plains Snow Goose Festival! This event is proudly sponsored by the​ American Birding Association, Bird Conservancy of the Rockies, Colorado Parks and Wildlife, Eads Chamber of Commerce,​ ​Kiowa County, ​Lamar Chamber of Commerce, ​and ​​Prowers County Development, Inc.

​In Spring, waves of bright white snow geese against an endless blue sky fly into southeastern Colorado, Snowgoose Flying Close with Flockroosting on scattered lakes on the prairie and feeding in the surrounding fields, making the area a favorite resting stop on their annual migration. Enjoy ​four days of programs, field trips and seminars that celebrate birding, watchable wildlife and historical heritage in Southeast Colorado. This year's keynote speaker is​ "The Birdchick" Sharon Stiteler.

​​Beginner to expert photographers, adults and youth alike​, are encouraged to participate in the annual Photography Contest. Participants can submit images in the following categories: Landscape, Birds, Native Wildlife, Historical, and ​Raptors (Committee's Choice Category). The festival committee encourages everyone to pick up a camera and help us showcase Southeast Colorado​! Contest entries are due by February ​2
