​​​​​​​​License and HIP Year 

The annual license and Harvest Information Program (HIP) year are the same, beginning on April 1 annually and concluding March 31 annually.

2016-2017 small-game license​ are available from any license agent, CPW office, online, or by phone at 1-800-244-5613. 

If you intend to hunt small game (including migratory birds) in Colorado during the 2016/2017 season, you need a new Harvest Information Program number. Register through ​the Harvest Information Program (HIP).​​

​​License Requirements

Hunters must have a small game license, youth small game or combination license, federal duck stamp and a Colorado Waterfowl Stamp​ to hunt waterfowl. ​​For more information on license requirements and waterfowl hunting, see the Waterfowl Regulations Brochure​.

​2016 - 2017​​​​ Fees

For individuals aged 18 through 64, a $10 Habitat Stamp is required with the first license purchase for the year (April 1 - March 31 annually). For more information, read about the Habitat Stamp. If you are disabled, you may not need a Habitat Stamp. See disability information.
