Introduction to Ice Fishing

Have you ever wanted to try ice fishing but did not know where to start? Are you new to ice fishing and looking for some tips to help you catch more fish? Then, this is the class for you! Space is limited so register today.
All fishing equipment will be provided or bring your gear and we will help you get it set up. All anglers 16 years old and older must have a valid fishing license. Licenses cannot be sold at the lake, but can be purchased at your local Wal-Mart or any place hunting and fishing equipment is sold.
The location is West lake in the Red Feather Lakes area west of Fort Collins. We will meet at the parking lot on the west side of the lake. Near the corner of Dowdy Lake Road and Red Feather Lakes road (County road 74e). Look for the truck with the Colorado Parks and Wildlife logo. The class will start at 9:00 but arriving by 8:30 am will give you time to get jackets and gear ready by 9:00. Please be on time and ready to go to respect the other participants time. Besides a valid fishing license, here are some additional items you may want to bring with you:
Yaktrax or something similar as the ice is VERY SLIPPERY and easy to fall on. You will want something for you shoes to keep you from falling.
Plenty of warm clothes - dress as if you are going to play in the snow or going skiing, sledding etc.Camp chair, water, snacks/lunch, hot chocolate etc.
