Steamboat Lake First Day Hike 2018

Monday, January 01: 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM

Come enjoy the first day of 2018 with this nationwide First Day Hike of 2018 event! Self-guided fun for hiking, snowshoeing or skiing the rails in the park. Hot drinks and snacks provided!

​Meet at the Visitor Center to prepare to enjoy the Steamboat Lake Snow. Hot drinks and snacks will be provided as well as some fun give-aways. A ranger will be available to direct you to trails and provide information. There are opportunities to snowshoe a packed and marked trail through a variety of terrain or bring classic or skate cross-country skis to enjoy our groomed ski trail system. Aside from beautiful scenery and lots of snow, participants can expect to see our hardy winter birds and identify a variety of animal tracks in the snow. 

Prepare for the snow activity of your choice. Bring snow shoes or skis and warm clothes.
