A Word About Wildlife In The Park

Black bear near a campsiteThe surrounding mountains are home to a wide variety of animals, including black bear that periodically roam through Eleven Mile's campgrounds. Please make sure that all garbage has been removed from your campsite each night. The park has bear-proof garbage cans in all locations around the park. These cans have simple, but effective, locking lids. Please remember to re-lock the can after use. Un-locked garbage cans do no good and can provide a temptation to bears during their nightly prowls.
