St. Vrain contains a total of 87 campsites in eight campgrounds located on or near the banks of seven ponds at the east end of the park. Your campsite will be an easy walk away from fishing, kayaking, or simply birdwatching on the trails that circle the ponds.

All campers must make a campsite reservation prior to occupying the site.
St. Vrain's campgrounds are very busy seven days a week from March to October, so campsite reservations are highly recommended in the spring, summer, and fall.
If a campsite is available, a walk-up customer that is prepared to occupy the campsite may still purchase/reserve the site at the entrance station.
General Overview
- As with all Colorado state parks, visitors are limited to camping no more than 14 days within a 28 day period.
- A valid daily or annual vehicle pass is required for each vehicle in addition to your camping permit. These fees are in addition to the camping reservation and may be purchased at the entrance station when checking in or after hours at the self-serve kiosk.
- Check-in for campsites is at 1 p.m. and check-out is at 12 noon.
Electric-Only Campsites
Sites 1 through 41 are located in the northeastern quarter of the park, in the area originally known as Barbour Ponds. These campsites offer electrical hookups only at each site, with water spigots located nearby for filling your tank. A dump station is located near the entrance for disposing of sewage. The Barbour Ponds Camper Services Building - containing flush restrooms, coin-operated showers, and a meeting room - is located halfway between Pelican and Mallard Camp Loops. A vault-style restroom is located in the center of Pelican Camp Loop as well.
Many of the sites in Pelican and Mallard Camp Loops have mature trees offering shade and scenery. Nearby ponds include Pelican, Mallard, Sandpiper, Killdeer, and Avocet Pond, and nearby trails include Pelican Pond Trail and Muskrat Run Nature Trail. Handicap-accessible fishing piers are located around Sandpiper and Pelican Ponds, and an accessible-fishing boardwalk is located on Mallard Pond behind the camper services building. Full-Hookup Campsites
Sites 42 through 87 are located in the southeastern quarter of the park, on newer land more recently developed for the park. These sites include electrical, water, and sewer hookups at each campsite, and you'll find Bald Eagle Pond, Coot Pond, and Red Tail Pond all within easy walking distance. Nearby trails circle Bald Eagle Pond and Coot Pond. There is a flush restroom located between Coot Camp Loop and Kestrel Camp Loop as well. View the Full-Hookup Campsite Map.
All the campsites throughout the park include a grill, picnic table, and concrete pad. Most sites also include a shade shelter over the picnic table. All electrical hookups include 50-amp, 30-amp, and 110-volt options. The flush restrooms and coin-operated showers in Barbour Ponds Camper Services Building are available for all campers to use. Campgrounds are open year-round, but some water hydrants may be shut off to prevent freezing in winter.
Certain campsites are specifically designed for handicap accessibility. Electric-only accessible sites include Site 37, and full-hookup accessible sites include Sites 57 and 76.
