Our Mission

The Colorado Wildlife Council’s goal is to educate the general public about the benefits of wildlife, wildlife management, and wildlife-related recreational opportunities in Colorado, specifically hunting and fishing.

About our “Science in the Wild” Campaign

“Science in the Wild” speaks to the audience through the lens of Colorado Parks & Wildlife officers and biologists..

The goal of the “Science in the Wild” campaign is to broaden our reach, connect with Coloradans who have little to no experience with hunting and fishing, and engage with them about why hunting and fishing are critical to conservation and wildlife management in Colorado.

About Wildlife Management in Colorado

Colorado boasts one of the most diverse and abundant wildlife populations in North America, with over 960 wildlife species, but it wasn’t always this way. Many of the state’s most cherished and iconic species thrive today only because of species conservation and wildlife reintroduction programs.
