Renew Your Registration Online

Online registration renewal for vehicles and vessels is available to people who already have their vehicle registrations added to their CPWShop.com accounts.

How to Renew Your Registration Online

Review the frequently asked questions below.

How do I tell if my vehicle is attached to my account? If it is, how do I renew?

  1. Sign in to your cpwshop.com account using your CID number.

    If you don't know your CID number: contact the CPW communications center at (303)297-1192.

  2. Once you are signed in, please review and confirm your customer details.

  3. Hover your mouse pointer over the "Vehicles/Vessels" tab on the blue menu bar at the top of the screen.

  4. Click on "My Vehicles/Registration Renewal".

Verify if your vehicle is attached to your account:

  1. No, your vehicle is not attached to your account if: You clicked on "My Vehicles/Registration Renewals" and received the error message "You do not have any registered Vehicle".

    To fix this: Your registration(s) need to be merged into your CID account. If you have never had the vehicle registered in your name, you will need to fill our a registration application and provide proof of ownership along with payment either in person at a CPW office or mail it to the Littleton Office. Please see the "What do I do now?" directions below.

  2. Yes, your vehicle is attached to your account if: You can click on the "Renew" blue button to renew your registration for your vehicle/vessel. You can also hover over the "Vehicles/Vessels" tab in the blue bar at the top of the screen and click on "My Vehicles/Registration Renewal".

I've checked, and my vehicle is not attached to my account. What do I do now?

Request to have your vehicle registration added to your account:

  1. Please contact the CPW Communications Center at (303)297-1192, any Colorado Parks and Wildlife office or send an email through ASKCPW and provide the representative with your full name and date of birth.

  2. A CPW representative will submit your vehicle registration and cpwshop.com accounts to be merged.

  3. A CPW representative will provide you with your registration account number(s). To renew before merging, login using the account number(s) provided on cpwshop.com. Hover your mouse pointer over the "Vehicles/Vessels" tab on the blue menu bar at the top of the screen. Click on "My Vehicles/Registration Renewal." Repeat if you have multiple accounts.

Verify your vehicle registration and cpwshop.com accounts have been merged:

  1. Once your accounts are merged, you will find your vehicles/vessels listed under your primary customer account at cpwshop.com.

  2. Sign in to your cpwshop.com account using your CID number.

  3. Hover your mouse pointer over the "Vehicles/Vessels" tab on the blue menu bar at the top of the screen.

  4. Click on "My Vehicles/Registration Renewal".

You can also visit a CPW office or park to renew your boat, OHV or snowmobile registration in-person.

Will I receive a temporary registration after renewing online?

Yes, your emailed receipt is your temporary.

I've renewed my registration (online or by phone), but I still have multiple accounts.

  1. Please fill out the Online Vehicle Registration Issues form.

  2. Your registration accounts will be merged into your primary customer account. In the future, you will be able to use your primary account to renew all your registrations.

I have registrations for vehicles I no longer own on my account, what do I do?

  1. Please fill out the Former Registration - Removal Request form.

  2. Colorado Parks and Wildlife will remove the submitted registrations from your account.

​​Boat Registration Renewals

If you have not received your registration renewal card and you do not have your registration number, please call 303-297-1192. 

If you know your registration number, you can renew online at cpwshop.com, by phone at 1-800-244-5613, or at any Colorado Parks and Wildlife office or State Park.

Registration renewal cards are mailed to currently registered owners each November. Boat registrations are valid January 1-December 31 each year. More information: Boat Registration page.

OHV Registration Renewals

If you have not received your registration renewal card and you do not have your registration number, please call 303-297-1192. 

If you know your registration number, you can renew online at cpwshop.com, by phone at 1-800-244-5613, or at any Colorado Parks and Wildlife office or State Park.

Registration renewal cards are mailed to currently registered owners each March. OHV registrations are valid April 1-March 31 each year.  For more information, ​visit the Off-Highway Vehicle Registration page.

​Out-of-state OHVs

Out-of-state residents who bring OHVs into Colorado must purchase a Colorado Non-Resident OHV permit.

Purchase Permits:

Permits are valid from the date of purchase through the following March 31.​
