Find the library's digital and physical content in one place with EBSCO Discovery Service. SEARCH NOW.

The NEW library interface, EBSCO Discovery Service (EDS), offers a “Google-like" search experience of library resources including print books and journals, digitized CPW content, databases, and e-journals.

CPW’s EBSCO Discovery is more than just a search box! Explore the left navigation menu links including:

  • Publications: Use Publication Finder to search CPW e-journal holdings. Shows dates of coverage, link takes you to journal homepage. Select Browse Databases (upper right) for a listing of databases; click on database title for access link and listing of CPW holdings.
  • Supplemental Sources: Access other research tools such as Google Scholar, Birds of the World, Fisheries Gray Literature Database, Colorado Historic Newspapers Collection, and more.
  • Request Library Card: Login required to access subscription resources such as e-journals. CPW employees can submit this form to request their library number.
  • Research Assistance: Submit this form or email the Research Librarian, Karen Hertel. To request articles and books use this form, email your citations, or look for the Request this Item link under Access Options in your search results.
  • Using EBSCO: Tips for using EBSCO, video tutorials, remote access questions, and more.

Anyone can browse the library catalog and download free digital content; however, only CPW employees can borrow print materials and access subscription e-journals and databases.

About the Library

The Research Library was created in the late 1960s to provide support primarily to the wildlife research sections. The Research Library evolved to serve the broader information management needs of CPW staff. Library collections are focused on wildlife ecology and associated ecological information and CPW public historical records such as Parks and Wildlife Commission meeting agendas and minutes.
