Off Highway Vehicle (OHV) Riders-Travel Restrictions
The White River National Forest allows motorized wheeled vehicle access to designated routes south of the State Park May 21 - November 22 (some routes remain closed until June 1). During these dates visitors may ride Off Highway Vehicles from the Sylvan Lake State Park Campground & Cabins to access designated routes on the National Forest. Yurt visitors need to trailer machines to the Yeoman Park USFS Campground for access.
White River National Forest Travel Management regulations restrict OHVs to specific routes. The National Forest has closed most portions of West Brush Creek Rd #400 and East Brush Creek Rd #415 to non highway legal motorized vehicles. Riders may ride #400 south to access roads #414, #431 and #413. Complete USFS Motor Vehicle Use Maps are available from the US Forest Service or State Park staff and volunteers.
It is your responsibility to know the travel management regulations in the areas you ride.

Please follow these guidelines when operating from the State Park:
Off Highway Vehicles (OHVs) such as 4-wheelers and unlicensed motorcycles may be ridden from the Sylvan Lake Campground, Cabins and Day Use Area at the Lake to access designated roads on the White River National Forest, with the following restrictions:
Vehicles must have a valid Colorado OHV Registration or Colorado Non-Resident Permit.
You must operate and park vehicles only in designated areas.
Operators must have a valid Driver's License or be directly supervised by a licensed driver over 18.
Children under 10 years old may not operate an OHV on public roads.
Headlight and taillight are required for nighttime operation.
We also remind you to be a responsible rider:
Do not create a nuisance. Keep speed and noise down.
Only operate your OHV on the park to access the National Forest.
Do not operate in a reckless manner.
Passengers should not exceed the capacity of the vehicle or ride in a manner not intended by the manufacturer.
Report accidents or injuries to a Park Ranger or call 911.
Violation of regulations or operation that is reckless or creates a nuisance to visitors may result in citation or eviction from Sylvan Lake State Park.
