The Region's best boating is at Boyd Lake State Park!

Please remember we are conducting Aquatic Nuisance Species (ANS) checks during the boating season to help prevent the spread of non-native plants and animals.

Please always use caution when boating as unmarked hazards may exist.

boyd boating.jpgBoats must be properly registered and equipped in accordance with State of Colorado laws.  Please check our conditions pages for the hours of the ANS Inspection Station. Registrations can be done at the Park Office and the hours of operation for the office are located on the left side of the main web page.

Boyd Lake State Park has three boat ramps. The six-lane Main Boat Ramp is located at the Marina north of the swim beach at the east end of the marina parking lot. Check our conditions page for the status of ramp openings.

The two-lane Heron Cove Ramp is located just north of the group picnic area.

The third ramp at Boyd Lake is called the Deep Water Ramp, which is only available when the water level has receded.

During the boating season the entire lake is open to boating and sailing. Only the south end of the lake is open to water skiing. The ski pattern is counterclockwise. Boaters must observe the Colorado boating statutes and regulations. Register your boat at Boyd Lake Visitor Center.

The marina is open daily in the summer. It has monthly and seasonal slips and moorings, and boat rentals including: ski boats, pontoon boats, fishing boats, and paddle boats. The marina shop carries fishing supplies, live bait, groceries, camping supplies, and souvenirs. For more information, view the marina brochure. The Marina number is (970) 663-2662.
