Species Available: Elk, Deer, Pronghorn. 

Note: This ranch has low success rates for elk due to dependence on elk migration patterns. When elk are present, it is likely there will be significant snow and hunters should expect to navigate snow in order to be successful. 

Elevations: 6,500 to 7,200 ft.

Terrain: Lay Creek Ranch consists of rolling sage terrain with draws and ponds. 

Access: The ranch can be accessed by vehicle through locked ranch gates. Hunters will be provided with lock codes through the ranch's online portal system. The majority of the ranch roads will be accessible to vehicle travel with the exception of some closures relating to revegetation, species management, and safety zones. 

Camping: No camping is allowed on the ranch. Hunter may camp on nearby public lands (where permitted). Hunters will not be allowed to utilize ranch access to landlocked BLM for camping purposes.

Game Retrieval Services: Hunter responsibility

Guiding Services: Not provided

Overnight Accommodations: Hotels, motels, and private campsites can be found in Craig, CO or Baggs, WY.

Antler-point restrictions for elk vary by ranch. Please refer to the brochure for more information​​. ​No over-the-counter licenses are offered on these properties. Ranching for Wildlife licenses are open to Colorado residents only. Licenses are only for the season and ranch on the license. All hunters will be required to check in and out using an online portal system. Directions on this will be provided in the hunter information packet.
