Astronomy Night Hikes - 3 Mile @ Cheyenne Mountain State Park

Come join us for an adventurous New Moon night hike! This month is the “Flower” moon but will too near the Sun to be seen during our night hike.

Advance registration and a State Park Pass is required. Come join us for an adventurous New Moon night hike! This month is the “Flower" moon but will too near the Sun to be seen during our night hike.

We will be exploring the Cheyenne Mountain State Park trails, where we will use our five senses to help us navigate at night. We will learn fun facts about how our eyes adjust to darkness, how nocturnal animals survive, night sky sights and more.

The hikes conclude around 9:30 PM in the Lime Kiln Trailhead Parking Lot for 30 minutes of viewing celestial sights through telescopes.

Audience: 8 years old and up

Location: Meet at the Limekiln Parking Lot, near the trailhead/restrooms
