Make Nature Your Office

Colorado Parks and Wildlife is looking for talented, enthusiastic people with a love for the outdoors and a shared passion for the future of Colorado.

This Job Isn't for Everyone, It's for You

Our work is meaningful, but not always easy. We get our boots dirty to manage the land, care for the State Parks, and keep trails open and safe. Someone has to keep the lakes clean, keep the weeds in check, monitor the herds, flocks and fish stocks, and watch out for threats to the health and safety of the outdoors. We all work, grow, and play as one team focused on doing our best for Colorado, one job at a time.

Benefits

In addition to offering rewarding, meaningful work, the job positions also offer quality benefit packages that include:

  • Medical and Dental plans
  • Flexible retirement plans, including PERA Defined Benefit Plan or PERA Defined Contribution Plan, plus pre-tax and Roth 401K and 457 Plans
  • Paid life insurance
  • Short- and long-term disability coverage
  • Employee Wellness Programs
  • Flexible Spending Accounts
  • Health Savings Accounts
  • Paid holidays and sick leave
  • Flexible work schedules and remote work options
  • Some positions may qualify for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program

Become a District Wildlife Manager

A District Wildlife Manager is one of the “public faces” of Colorado Parks and Wildlife, the person the public is most likely to meet and work with. DWMs live in the communities where they work. They enforce the laws and manage wildlife in the field, but also work with school kids, deal with human-wildlife conflicts, make presentations to groups, offer customer service and get involved in their communities in many ways. Job applications open Sept. 1- 30 for District Wildlife Managers.

Field Biologist

Biologists use airplanes, helicopters, boats, and their own two feet to gain the first-hand knowledge needed to make sensible biological decisions. It’s as close as it comes to making an impact on wildlife. Biologists collect and analyze data, monitor wildlife populations, and recommend plans for wildlife management.
