Potluck begins at 5:30 - bring something to share! Then enjoy your self-guided hike on the Gould Loop trail lit up under the full moon! Hike/snowshoe/cross-country ski to the Chocolate Cabin to enjoy the campfire. Snowshoes can be rented at the Visitor Center for $5/pair. Hot Chocolate served at the Visitor Center.

Fresh Air Friday Hike – Native American Heritage

Walk off that Thanksgiving feast with a Ranger on a guided Hike – snowshoes may be needed! We will talk about the Native Americans that inhabited our area. Leaving from the Moose Visitor Center at noon (12pm), hike the Gould Loop approximate 3⁄4 mile each way.

Christmas Tree/Open House

State Forest State Park
Choose and cut your perfect fresh Christmas tree! Pick up your Forest Service cutting permit $10 (per tree) at the Moose Visitor Center and we will direct you to the designated tree cutting area in our Park. Bring all your supplies to cut and carry the tree home! Enjoy hot cocoa at the Visitor Center from 9-4.

First Day Hike

State Forest State Park
Start your year off on the right or left foot with a guided Snowshoe Hike. Leaving from the Moose Visitor Center at noon (12pm), we will hike the Gould Loop approximate 3⁄4 mile each way.

Wildlife Conservation—Additional money raised not used for state parks and outdoor safety will be used to support the State Wildlife Action Plan, which helps fund wildlife and habitat conservation work for the 960 species that CPW manages.
Local Communities—Your pass supports our natural resources and helps grow outdoor accessibility and educational programs in local communities.
