Astronomy Hikes (1 Mile)

Come join us for an adventurous night hike!

Event Info

About this Event

We will be exploring the trails of Cheyenne Mountain State Park by the light of the moon. During the hike we will point out astronomical features visible to the naked eye, as well as tell star stories.

The hike will conclude around 10:00 PM. The Colorado Springs Astronomical Society will have telescopes set up in the Limekiln trailhead parking lot to share the wonders of the universe. Summer presents its own unique sky for viewing and discussing the solar system, as well as deep space objects, so please stick around to explore space with us!

Please plan to meet your guide at the Limekiln Trailhead near the restroom building. This program is recommended for ages 8 years old and up. Advanced registration required.

This program is free. A valid park pass is required on every vehicle that enters the park.
