Pueblo OUT, formerly known as TEN: A Blast from the Past - Exploring Colorado’s Natural History
Join Pueblo O.U.T. (Outdoor Understanding for Teachers), formerly known as T.E.N., June 10th-13th for our summer professional development class, A Blast from the Past. We will be exploring the rich natural history of Colorado. Topics will include geology, wildlife management and conservation, the Ute people, mining and the local steel mill, key historical figures, and mindfulness in nature. Participants will visit local sites and be exposed to a variety of hands-on activities that are applicable to science, social studies, math, history, and language arts. The goal of O.U.T. is to help teachers promote student understanding and appreciation of science and the natural environment by encouraging local field-oriented education opportunities and sharing in-school curriculum.
This event is taking place in various locations including Lake Pueblo State Park, Pueblo Mountain Park, Pueblo Zoo, El Pueblo Museum, and the Pueblo Riverwalk.
