Colorado Outdoor Equity Board to meet January 19 in a virtual meeting

DENVER – The Colorado Outdoor Equity Board will hold its first meeting on Wed., January 19 from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. At its virtual meeting, the board will discuss a financial overview and spending authority, a timeline of the grant cycle, grant outline and deliverables, an upcoming meeting schedule and includes time for public comment at 3 p.m.

The board, created by the passage of House Bill 21-1318, is composed of members representing communities that have faced barriers to accessing Colorado’s outdoors and are responsible for the governance of the Outdoor Equity Grant program.
The board will award grants to organizations or applicants that will directly utilize the grant to engage eligible youth and their families by reducing barriers to Colorado’s outdoors, creating pathways for formal or informal conservation of Colorado’s outdoors, or offering environmental and Colorado outdoor-based educational opportunities.
