BAYFIELD, Colo. – Colorado Parks and Wildlife will close the Bayfield Lions Club Shooting Range from April 28-29 so La Plata County crews can safely conduct work on a new monitoring well.

The free public shooting range, which is located at 4499 County Road 223 in Bayfield, will close for the two days as crews drill the well on the Lions Club Range property.

CPW asks range visitors to please adhere to closure signs posted at the range until they are removed.

“We want to thank the public for their understanding during this temporary closure,” said CPW Assistant Area Wildlife Manager Steve McClung.

The Bayfield Lions Club Shooting Range consists of a rifle/pistol range, a shotgun range and an archery range.

Outside of the closure dates of April 28-29, the range is open 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. April 1 through Oct. 31 and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Nov. 1 through Nov. 30. The range closes Dec. 1 through March 31.
