A CPW ANS Boat Inspector looks for invasive mussels at the Loma Point of Entry on May 15.
Aquatic Nuisance Species (ANS) are aquatic plants and animals that invade lakes, reservoirs, rivers and streams. ANS can wreak havoc on ecosystems, outdoor recreation, hydroelectric power equipment and the economy. CPW employees continue to intercept mussel-infested boats bound for Colorado waters.

The Google Drive Folder below contains several items that we hope will be helpful to you in preparing stories and educating the public about keeping harmful ANS invaders out of our state.

The folder contains the following information, and will be updated throughout the season:
  • Download ANS photos and videos of Loma Point of Entry ANS check station
  • Mussel-Free Colorado Act Fact Sheet
  • ANS FAQ
  • Key points to remember about ANS
For additional inquiries, please contact your statewide or regional public information officers to schedule interviews or provide region-specific information.  ANS Media Package on Google Drive
