Hunting at Fishers Peak
Colorado Parks and Wildlife offers a number of backcountry hunting opportunities at Fishers Peak State Park through a limited-license draw. The use of vehicles or ATVs/UTVs is not permitted when hunting.
What to Hunt at Fishers Peak
Turkey
Turkey hunting will be offered during the spring turkey season.
Elk
Elk hunting will be offered for the September season and regular rifle season. If the winners for the regular rifle season deer license also hold a valid bear license, they will be allowed to hunt bear on the property during their elk or deer season.
Deer
Deer hunting will be offered for the September season and regular rifle season. If the winners for the regular rifle season deer license also hold a valid bear license, they will be allowed to hunt bear on the property during their elk or deer season.
Bear
Bear hunting will be offered for the September season.
Mountain Lion
Mountain lion hunting will be offered during the mountain lion season.

Hunting
How to Apply for a License
Applications for certain species are available starting in March.
- Only one application entry will be allowed per person, per season.
- All applicants must have successfully completed a hunter's education course at the time of the draw.
Successful applicants for the draws will be issued a Special Activity Permit authorizing access to Fishers Peak State Park only during the season dates found on their license.
HUNTING
Spring Turkey Licenses
Spring turkey over-the-counter licenses typically go on sale in March. Five turkey hunters are allowed per spring season, with each hunter having their own week to hunt in the park.
