Description
Several boat ramps provide access for boat anglers while numerous access sites provide opportunities for bank anglers to target most fish species, depending on the season.

Special Regulations
1. Ice fishing shelters must be portable.
2. There is no bag or possession limit for lake trout.
3. No more than one lake trout greater than 32 inches in length may be taken per day.
4. Snagging of kokanee salmon is permitted from November 1 through December 31.
5. The bag limit for kokanee salmon is 5 fish.
6. The possession limit for kokanee salmon is 10 fish.

$10,000 in Prize Money
Blue Mesa Reservoir - Lake Trout Tournament
A new year brings the next edition of the Blue Mesa Lake Trout Tournament put on by Colorado Parks and Wildlife.
CPW will once again offer $10,000 in prize money to lure in angler participation for the tournament, which will be held at Blue Mesa Reservoir from Jan. 1 through April 30, 2025.
To participate in the tournament, anglers who harvest a lake trout 24 inches or smaller should cut the fish’s head off behind the gills and turn the heads into a collection point.

Invasive species damage Colorado's lands and waters, hurt the economy, ruin recreational opportunities, result in a loss of property values and threaten public health. They consume enormous amounts of water reducing the supply for livestock, wildlife, and humans. They impede water distribution systems for municipal, industrial, and agricultural supplies. They can damage boats, gear and fishing equipment, and impair all forms of water based recreation. They displace wildlife habitat and reduce forage, shelter and range for big game and other native species.
