Get your boots dirty on Thursday, January 1, 2026 at Lathrop's First Day Hike with La Veta Trails. We'll be hiking the Cuerno Verde Trail: an easy, paved 3-mile loop around Martin Lake that is perfect for all ages and abilities.
Meet at Lathrop's Visitor Center at 10 am. After the hike, enjoy some coffee, hot chocolate, and snacks!
- This is a free event, but a park pass is required
- Bring water and sun protection
- Weather may vary, so dress appropriately and be prepared for the possibility of snow on the ground
- Dogs are encouraged and must be on a 6-foot leash at all times
