About this Event

Levi “Levee” Montoya, has Native American ancestry, including Navajo, Paiute, Jicarilla Apache, and Tewa Pueblo heritage. Although he was not raised in Native traditions, his 40-year career with the USDA NRCS allowed him to work closely with Tribal communities across the United States as a Tribal Liaison and instructor on Native relations. For over 30 years, Levi has devoted himself to Native spiritual traditions as a storyteller, flint knapper, drummer, flute player, Sundance participant, and Sacred Pipe carrier, helping preserve and share Native cultural practices. His program will feature native storytelling, flute, drumming, and dancing.
