The 4th Annual San Juan Trail Tri returns on June 13, 2026, challenging athletes to take on one of the region’s most scenic trail triathlons at the foot of Colorado’s San Juan Mountains. Blending endurance, grit, and mountain adventure, this grassroots race delivers rugged terrain, high-country views, and a tight-knit community atmosphere—whether you’re racing to compete, push personal limits, or simply experience an unforgettable day on the Western Slope.

San Juan Trail Tri: Race for a Cause at Ridgway State Park!
The San Juan Trail Tri is a thrilling fundraising race held at Ridgway State Park. All proceeds support local youth and recreation programs. Compete solo or as a team in this unique multisport challenge.
Race Details
The order of events is run, paddle, then pedal. The total cut-off time for the event is 3.25 hours.
- Run (Approx. 3.5 miles): Trail run in the Dallas Creek area of Ridgway State Park.
- Paddle (Approx. 1.5 miles): Stand-up-paddle (SUP) on the Reservoir.
- Mountain Bike (Approx. 8.5 miles): Ride on the Ridgway Area Trails (RAT system).
Note: All distances are approximate, as the starting line location is dependent on the water level.Schedule
The race takes place on Saturday, 6/13/26.
- Race Day Start: 8:30 am.
- Transition Area Opens: 6:30 am on race day.
- Race Day Check-in: Starts at 7:00 am.
- Early Check-in (Friday): 6/12/26 from 5:15–6:15 pm at the race site and at Montrose Surf and Cycle.
Competitor Information
Required Gear: All racers must provide their own equipment for each leg of the event. This includes:
- Stand-up-paddle board (SUP) and paddle.
- Personal flotation device (PFD).
- Mountain bike and helmet.
- Running shoes.
Recommended Skills: Intermediate mountain bike skills are recommended, as is some experience with SUP.
Park Entry: All participants and volunteers must present their CO Parks vehicle registration pass or pay to enter the State Park on race day.
