Colorado River Emergency Closure

Effective immediately, Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW) has issued an emergency closure for all public access and downstream recreation on the Colorado River starting at James M. About this Event

Join experienced birders Ira and Tammy Sanders on a bird walk at Reilly Canyon where the road meets the water's edge.  Here you will view birds on the lake and shore feeding and doing what birds do.  After, you will drive back up the road and walk the trails looking for terrestrial birds of the area.  Ira and Tammy adapt to the group's participants' experience levels, providing birding basics, including how to identify birds and their calls and songs.  Or assist in locating birds with experienced birders out for the morning.

Bring your binoculars, questions, and excitement as you enter the crazy beautiful world of bird watching.  You may be introduced to field guides, optical equipment, etiquette, phone apps, and anything else that comes up during the 2 hours.

Reilly Canyon is located at the west end of Trinidad Lake State Park.
