Meet at the Pelican Point Parking Lot and walk into the wetlands via the Smoky Hill Trail and Pipeline Trail to see what birds are out and about and learn about birding.

Join Pueblo O.U.T. (Outdoor Understanding for Teachers), formerly known as T.E.N., June 10th-13th for our summer professional development class,&nbsp;<em>A Blast from the Past</em>. We will be exploring the rich natural history of Colorado. Topics will include geology, wildlife management and conservation, the Ute people, mining and the local steel mill, key historical figures, and mindfulness in nature. Participants will visit local sites and be exposed to a variety of hands-on activities that are applicable to science, social studies, math, history, and language arts. The goal of O.U.T. is to help teachers promote student understanding and appreciation of science and the natural environment by encouraging local field-oriented education opportunities and sharing in-school curriculum.&nbsp;This event is taking place in various locations including Lake Pueblo State Park, Pueblo Mountain Park, Pueblo Zoo, El Pueblo Museum, and the Pueblo Riverwalk.

Explore Barr Lake at dusk! Envision yourself taking a short brisk evening walk with a Park Naturalist. Moon walk programs are designed for adults and families with children age 6 and up. We will meet in front of the Nature Center and will hike up to 3 miles.

Join volunteer naturalists Tammy and Ira for a birding walk in the park. Learn about birds and other natural wonders at Barr Lake. This walk will to introduce park visitors and birders of all levels of experience to the park birds and anything else you happen to see. Registration is encouraged, but if you want to join us last minute please feel free to do so.&nbsp;
