Aerial spraying operations to temporarily close public access to some State Wildlife Areas

DENVER, Colo. - Colorado Parks and Wildlife will be conducting aerial spraying operations on a few State Wildlife Areas from mid-June until the end of the month to apply cheatgrass herbicide. Low-flying helicopters may be visible during spraying operations.

During the operations, the Pony Express SWA and Sedgwick Bar SWA in Sedgwick County and South Republican SWA in Yuma County will be temporarily closed to public access for safety.

Aerial spraying is weather-dependent. Prospective visitors to those SWAs will need to contact 970-556-5784 for daily closure information.
