Media Advisory: Cherry Creek State Park swim beach building ribbon cutting


AURORA, Colo - Colorado Parks and Wildlife is hosting a ribbon cutting celebration for the new Cherry Creek State Park swim beach building on Saturday, June 29. The event caps off an eight month project to replace the old swim beach building constructed in the 1980s. The new building will have an education room, food truck pad, outdoor covered picnic tables, new bathrooms, outdoor showers and new playground equipment. Funding from Governor Jared Polis’s stimulus project was instrumental in completing the new facility.

WHEN: 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 29

WHERE: Swim beach on the east side of Cherry Creek State Park

WHO: Cherry Creek State Park staff, Aurora Chamber of Commerce, Bronco Wild Fund, Action Trackchair

The Bronco Wild Fund will also be making a donation to the park towards the purchase of the first track chair for Cherry Creek and planting trees Saturday afternoon.
