Media Statement: Update on stabbing incident at Staunton State Park

DENVER – On August 19, 2025, Colorado Parks and Wildlife (CPW), the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office and the Colorado State Patrol responded to a stabbing incident involving a seasonal CPW employee at Staunton State Park. The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office actively investigated the incident and CPW is aware of the County’s press release, indicating that multiple misdemeanor and felony charges have been filed.
