Public comment period extended for CPW Fort Collins office relocation project

FORT COLLINS, Colo. — The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is extending the public comment period for feedback on the revised draft Environmental Assessment for the relocation of the Colorado Parks and Wildlife facility in Fort Collins. The revised Environmental Assessment can be found through the USFWS website.  Public comments can be emailed to [email protected] through Wednesday, November 5.

CPW is proposing to relocate its Fort Collins office to other CPW-owned property on the southeast corner of I-25 and Mountain Vista Drive. In the draft Environmental Assessment, CPW and USFWS concluded the proposed project would improve surrounding access roads and not affect wetlands, floodplains or threatened or endangered species.

The current administrative office, located at 317 W Prospect Rd, Fort Collins, CO 80526, is more than 60 years old and has reached staffing capacity. City development around the office has made it difficult for visitors to access the site when pulling trailers with boats, ATVs, campers and more. Current storage space is also limited due to agency growth.
