Application window for Golden Gate Canyon tree cut permits now open
GOLDEN, Colo. — The application window for the annual Christmas tree cut at Golden Gate Canyon State Park is open through November 15. The $35 permits can only be purchased online on the CPW Shop website under “Visit a park - special events.” 250 people will be awarded tree cut permits through a lottery system. Winners will be notified after Nov. 15.
The tree cut will be held on December 7 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the designated area from the Nott Creek trailhead. Power tools are not allowed, hand tools only. Trees must be carried back to the vehicle. Any tree species may be felled.
