The Durango Fish Hatchery, a cold water facility, raises rainbow, brown, Snake River cutthroat, and native cutthroat trout and kokanee salmon. Durango stocks approximately 150,000 catchable rainbows and 1.3 million sub-catchable fish each year in the southwest corner of Colorado.This is the oldest state-owned fish hatchery in Colorado (Leadville National Fish Hatchery is the oldest).
