Windy Ridge

Most properties are open seasonally for hunting and fishing ONLY, unless specifically authorized for wildlife viewing. STLs are typically open from Sept. 1 through the end of February, unless noted otherwise and are closed to public access all other times of the year. A valid hunting or fishing license​ is required to access State Trust Lands in this program, and unauthorized use or activity on these lands may be subject to enforcement from CPW or local authorities.
From Kremmling, go W for 20 miles on Hwy. 40 (Diamond Creek crossing, mile marker 163), then go W for 2 miles on CR 184. Timber activity may be present. CR access runs through private property until boundary of STL. Driving or parking vehicles off county road in private hay meadows prohibited.

Antelope Flats

From intersection of I-76 and Hwy. 52 at Wiggins, go S on Hwy. 52 for 12 miles to CR F. Go E on CR F for 4 miles to CR 10. Drive S on CR 10 for 2 miles to first parking lot at intersection of CR 10 and CR C. Access to second parking lot is 1 mile E on CR C from first parking lot, then 1 mile S on CR 11.

Antero

From Fairplay, go S on Hwy. 285 for 16.5 miles. From N of Antero Jct. on Hwy. 24, go 9 miles to Antero Res. Rd., then go W 1.75 miles to NW corner of STL. Or, go 4.5 miles N of Antero Jct. on Hwy. 285, then go W on unmarked USFS Rd. 433, 0.5 miles to N boundary. Timber activity may be present.

Badger Flats

ACCESS #1: From Lake George, take Hwy. 24 W for 1.5 miles. ACCESS #2: From Lake George, take CR 90 W for 2.25 miles. ACCESS #3: From Lake George, take Hwy. 24 W approx. 8 miles to USFS Rd. 891, then go S. (GMU 50 N of Hwy. 50, GMU 581 S of Hwy. 50)

Beecher Island

From Wray, go S on Hwy. 385 for 5 miles, then turn left onto CR 30 and drive 1.3 miles. Turn right onto CR JJ and go 2.8 miles. Turn left onto CR 27 and go 0.7 miles. Take a slight right onto CR KK and go 5.6 miles to parking.

Oil Well Flats

From Cañon City on Hwy. 50, go 6.5 N on Field Ave. to CR 9 (Red Canyon Rd.) to BLM Rd. 5940. Stay on BLM Rd. 5940 for 1 mile to BLM Rd. 5490. Travel BLM Rd. 5490 for 1.5 Miles. STL a 500-yard hike E across BLM land to NW corner.

Bull Pasture

From Rocky Ford, go S on Hwy. 71 for 5 miles to Hwy. 10. Go W on Hwy. 10 for 0.5 miles, then continue S for 9 miles to Hwy. 350. Take Hwy. 350 W for approx. 10.5 miles to CR 13. Go approx. 0.75 miles S of Hwy. 350 on CR 13. Property W of CR 13 for 1 mile.

Burns Canyon

From stoplight in Johnson Village, go E for 1 mile to CR 301. Head S on CR 301 for approx. 2.8 miles to CR 300. Turn left onto CR 300 and continue for 2.5 miles to Ruby Mountain Campground. Access USFS Rd. 300 to 300A. Head W on 300A to USFS trail 1423. NOTE: 4WD vehicle highly recommended!

Coal Creek

From Maybell, go W on Hwy. 40 to BLM Rd. 1509. Turn S on BLM Rd. 1509 and go approx. 3.4 miles to unnamed BLM road. Turn W onto unnamed BLM road and go approx. 2.4 miles. Access by foot or horseback only across adjacent BLM lands.

Cold Springs Mountain

From Maybell, go NW on Hwy. 318 for 41 miles to CR 10N. Go N on CR 10N for 8 miles. STL is W of CR 10N largely on top of mountain and is mixed with BLM and private land. 2,495 acres E of CR 10N mixed with BLM and private land. 4WD vehicles advised on CR 167 and BLM Rd. 2007.
