Harvey Gap State Park is a day-use only area and sits at an elevation of 6,400 feet. Harvey Gap State Park is a beautiful cedar and sagebrush habitat. The Grand Hogback, the ridge that marks the edge of the Rocky Mountains, runs along the south end of the reservoir. The original earthen dam at Harvey Gap also provides a get-away-from-it-all haven for recreationists.
