The purpose of the volunteer program at Barr Lake is to enhance the visitor experience by providing quality educational interpretive and conversational contacts with park visitors. Well-trained and skilled volunteers enable Barr Lake State Park staff to educate many visitors throughout the year.
Volunteers also increase visitor safety by providing more eyes and ears on the park and by providing educational contacts that may prevent unsafe behavior. The Barr Lake volunteer program also provides a fun, supportive and educational place where adults of all ages, abilities and experience can come together to learn, grow and share their love of the natural world with others.
Barr Lake offers a buffet of options for earning volunteer service hours. Volunteers may choose to specialize in just one type of work, or they may choose to do a little of everything.
