Surrounded by the Denver metro area, Cherry Creek offers a recreational oasis amid the hectic urban world. Almost any day, the park’s 35 miles of multiuse trails, including 15 miles of paved trails, are abuzz with walkers, hikers, bikers, and families on outings. In winter, there might be snowshoers or cross-country skiers. The cool waters of Cherry Creek Reservoir attract water skiers, anglers and boaters of all kinds.

Whether you are an avid hiker, mountain biker or hunter, or you simply appreciate all the Colorado outdoors has to offer, there are many ways you can get involved. Colorado state parks have a variety of employment and volunteer opportunities. Jobs include naturalists and maintenance and administrative work, and range from full to part time and temporary. A customer-service-based position that involves inspecting for invasive zebra/quagga mussels, milfoil or other noxious species on boats and personal watercraft at an inspection point in the park.

Come be a Cherry Creek State Park Campground Office Attendant! Attendants are needed year-round to support, explore and enjoy this Denver-area gem. All campground attendant/resident volunteer positions with CPW are unpaid volunteer positions.

Dog Off-leash Area Assistance

Dog Off-leash Area Assistance

Our goal is to establish a group of willing volunteers to assist in sustaining and improving the Dog Off-leash Area (DOLA) at Cherry Creek State Park — a highly used area of the park by Denver-metro residents. Volunteers assist in various projects ranging from, but not limited to: habitat restoration, landscaping, and trail and fence projects.
