Whether you are an avid hiker, mountain biker, or hunter, or you simply appreciate all the Colorado outdoors has to offer, there are many ways you can get involved. Colorado state parks have a variety of employment and volunteer opportunities. Jobs include naturalists and maintenance and administrative work, and range from full to part time and temporary. Volunteer Highlights
Maintenance
Assist with park maintenance, construction, and repair. Complete special or seasonal maintenance tasks as needed.
Garden Care
Water newly planted trees and shrubs, prune, weed and remove litter from the garden area. Generally, help keep the garden maintained and beautiful.
Park/Boat Safety Ambassador
Park/boat safety ambassadors answer questions, share information and are the eyes of the park on weekends in our popular day-use areas.
Track-Chair Program
To provide this opportunity to the disabled community, Lathrop State Park offers the use of the TrackMaster Track-Chair, which allows visitors to explore designated trails in the park. Volunteer responsibilities include hiking alongside Track-Chair participants and ensuring they have a safe and educational trip.
