Yampa Valley Crane Festival

Thursday, August 29: 8/29/2019 : 12:00 AM - 9/1/2019 : 12:00 AM

The eighth annual Yampa Valley Crane Festival will be held August 29 – September 1 in beautiful Steamboat Springs and Hayden, Colorado. Join us for the Birding By Pontoon Boat Event at Steamboat Lake State Park on Friday, August 30. This event takes participants on a birding tour by boat along the shores of beautiful Steamboat Lake. Although cranes may not be visible, plenty of other birds and wildlife should be. The tour will be led by expert birders, Tresa and David Moulton, assisted by Julie Arington of Colorado Parks and Wildlife.

The 2019 festival will focus not only on the Rocky Mountain Greater Sandhill Cranes but also on the cranes of Africa

Other festival activities include guided crane viewing sessions, nature and bird walks, a community picnic and presentation by Birding magazine editor Ted Floyd.
